Archibald Leman Cochrane(1909～1988)是英國的內科醫(yī)生和臨床流行病學家.1972年因發(fā)表 lt;療效與效益:健康服務中的隨機反映 gt;一書奠定了循證醫(yī)學的基礎,其倡導的隨機對照試驗和系統(tǒng)評價成為循證醫(yī)學的理論核心.因其卓越貢獻而被公認為循證醫(yī)學的創(chuàng)始人之一,Cochrane協(xié)作網(wǎng)也為紀念他而得名.本文通過追尋他的人生足跡來介紹他的傳奇一生,并展示循證醫(yī)學初期的發(fā)展歷程.
