尊敬的專家、代表 ：
春意正濃的四月是四川成都最美麗的時節(jié)，“第五屆華西微創(chuàng)胸外科手術(shù)論壇”也將于2012年4月19日至22日如期而至。去年的四月，在各位同仁的支持和關(guān)愛下成功舉辦了“第四屆華西國際微創(chuàng)胸外科手術(shù)論壇”，大家圍繞胸外科微創(chuàng)發(fā)展進行了熱烈討論和交流，此情此景歷歷在目，我們的友情日久彌深。
2011年是我國微創(chuàng)胸外發(fā)展歷程上很重要的一年，成立了中國醫(yī)師協(xié)會胸外科醫(yī)師分會微創(chuàng)外科專家委員會和大中華胸腔鏡推動及發(fā)展委員會（GCTAB），為今后有組織和成規(guī)模的推進微創(chuàng)胸外科技術(shù)奠定了基礎(chǔ)。2011年也是微創(chuàng)胸外科技術(shù)在西部地區(qū)開花結(jié)果的一年，華西醫(yī)院胸外科“單向式胸腔鏡肺葉切除術(shù)的創(chuàng)立及其在肺癌診治中的應用研究”榮獲四川省科技進步一等獎，并成功舉辦了第一期GCTAB全國胸腔鏡手術(shù)培訓班。上述成績的取得無不得益于各位前輩的厚愛和廣大同仁的鼎力相助。
2012年第五屆論壇將再次為我們提供歡聚交流的機會。此次論壇仍然以胸外科微創(chuàng)化診治作為核心議題，涉及胸腔鏡肺葉切除、肺段切除、支氣管袖式成形，胸腔鏡腹腔鏡食管癌切除、縱隔鏡食管癌手術(shù)，微創(chuàng)縱隔手術(shù)，胸外科介入治療等內(nèi)容。我們將誠摯邀請國內(nèi)眾多知名專家參會講座，邀請國際有影響力的胸外科專家參會講座，并進行現(xiàn)場手術(shù)演示。我們希望會議上能夠總結(jié)交流近年來我國各中心微創(chuàng)胸外科所取得的成就和經(jīng)驗，分享廣大胸外科同仁的成果和經(jīng)驗，為推動微創(chuàng)胸外科的發(fā)展盡一份心力。同期還將舉辦胸外科圍術(shù)期快速康復護理研討班。

Dear Colleagues,
April is the month of Spring in West part of China which can present the most beautiful aspects of Chengdu city. As expected, the 5th West China Forum on Mini-invasive Thoracic Surgery will be held in Chengdu from April 19th to 22nd , 2012. In last April the 4th forum achieved great success, which helped us to make more friends and learn the advances in mini-invasive thoracic surgery.
The year of 2011 identified the very important moments in the history of VATS development in China---the Expert Committee of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery of Chinese Medical Doctor Association was founded which was followed by the founding of Greater China Thoracoscopic Advisory Board（GCTAB）. We believe that this will forcefully push VATS to spread more broadly and rapidly in China in a more organized way. Also the year of 2011 harvested the fruits of VATS development in the west part of China--- “The clinical application of single direction of VATS lobectomy” won the first award of Science and Technology Progress Award of Sichuan Province and we successfully organized the first round of GCTAB training. We can never do this without the help from the honored pioneers and our beloved colleagues.
In the coming 5th forum, we promise to provide you another wonderful forum ! The mini-invasive thoracic surgery will continue to be the core topic covering the aspects of VATS lobectomy, VATS segmentectomy, VATS sleeve bronchoplasty, VATS treatment of esophageal disease and mediastinum disease. We will invite famous Chinese and international VATS specialists to give us the exciting talks and live shows. We encourage academic communication and experience sharing among different medical centers. We hope that all the participants from different centers can share their best practice and their joys of innovation!
